Clare Castle Country Park

Dad took me to Clare Castle Country Park today, where he showed me the disused railway station and line. He told me about Gods Wonderful Railway and how Brunel made a line from London to Truro without significant gradient, using some of the best engineered tunnels and bridges ever made. And how he made a tunnel under the Thames.

Then he showed me some old hooks on the wall of a bridge and talked about the how the railways were the cutting edge of telegraph because they needed to signal between stations so the trains didn't bump into each other.
